Close Counters’ whirlwind 2025 saw theduorelease their first full-length-original-record,‘LOVERSDANCE ACADEMY’,which climbed to#3onARIA’sJazz & Blues Album Chart,and was widelysupported byJazz FM,BBC Radio 1Xtra,6Music,KEXP Seattle,Double J,RRR,PBSand UKtastemakerTina Edwardsnoted the record was“the best dance album of the year”.

Splitting the year betweenLondon andNarrm/Melbourne, their album tour saw them tick off dreamfestivals with the live band atGlastonbury,Love Supreme,Brick Lane Jazz Festival,The GreatEscapeandsold out 2 x Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Clubin London;whilst ‘back home’they packed1000peopleintoTheCroxtonin Narrm. In Europethey’ve playedLost Village,Defected Malta & Croatia,Manchester Jazz Festival,Somewhere Soul Showcase,and down-under notchedMeredith MusicFestival,Let Them Eat Cake,Falls Festival,Strawberry FieldsandParty in thePaddock.

With a fresh record in early production stages, and festival dates in tow across Australia and the UK fortheirnever-endingsummer, 2026 is shaping up strong for"Australia's version of Kaytranada"–TommyFaith(triple j).
