Tom Riccioni
Tom Riccioni is a creative force, matching elegant instrumentals with lyrics reflecting on love, loss, community and connection. A prolific songwriter hailing from Naarm/Melbourne, Tom’s folk-leaning material takes cues from the likes of Bon Iver and José González.
As a solo artist, it’s Tom’s natural charm and humour that bind him to audiences, bringing a levity to his performances that contrasts the raw vulnerability of his lyrics. Though Tom has toured extensively through Australia and Europe, it’s seeing Tom play at his intimate house shows that has built a sense of community among his fans. Known for their intimate settings in the living rooms and backyard of houses across Australia, these cosy performances present Tom at his best: on the same level as the crowd, free of distraction, bearing his heart for those in the room.
As frontman and one fifth of indie rock band Mood Spill, Tom is also known for the chaos, soul and energy he brings to the band’s entrancing live performances. After the release of Mood Spill’s debut EP in 2024, Tom Riccioni has now released his debut collection of solo material under his own name.
Released in April 2025 through Unravelled Records, Tom’s debut EP Warm Habit features stunning lyrics on love and connection that are equally tender and introspective. Instrumentally, Tom is a master of his craft, effortlessly moving between piano and guitar and employing a vocal timbre that ranges from rust-flecked cries to soothing falsetto.
Collecting four songs, Warm Habit was produced and mixed by Australia folk luminary Dustin Tebutt and mastered by ARIA Award-winning engineer, producer and musician Josh Schuberth.
The release was supported with a sold out launch show in May at the Wesley Anne in Melbourne, presented by Unravelled Records. Tom’s next performances include a slot on the Wesley Anne’s Wild Folk festival in June 2025, as well as performing as a duo with pianist Arlon _ at Beechworth’s Wonder Mountain Festival in September.
